Our Story
When Dr. Adalyn and Dr. Nori met during their studies at Endeavour College of Natural Health in Brisbane, they quickly discovered that they shared a passion for holistic health and helping others. They also learned how to work together as a team. And when it came time to launch Amber & Flow in 2021, they knew they had the right partners in each other.
Dr. Adalyn has a background in business, while Dr. Nori is a trained computer analyst. Together, they share the vision of sharing their knowledge and expertise with their local communities.
Ada and Nori have developed an approach that combines Eastern and Western techniques to create a unique experience for each client—one that they hope will leave their clients feeling refreshed and relaxed.
Our Mission & Vision
Amber & Flow is here to fill the gaps in the communities by offering Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments. Our mission is to provide effective and personalised holistic services that are accessible, affordable, and enjoyable.
We believe in the power of personal growth through healing and nourishment. We want to increase awareness about the excellent benefits of acupuncture treatments and Chinese Medicine therapies into a wider community.
Dr. Noraini Zakaria
Dr. Nori had always been passionate about the benefits of massage. She pursued this passion by studying Traditional Chinese Medicine in Brisbane, Australia. After finishing school, Nori began practising with her friend Ada, who had also graduated from the same school. In 2022, they founded Amber & Flow together. Nori loves that she can help people feel better everyday by offering them a therapeutic massage experience tailored to their needs.
Special Interest
The study of traditional Chinese medicine is not a coincidence for Nori.
In 1995, she was gifted a book on the topic and began using it to help her children when they were ill. She found many tips in the book that helped her children with colds, fevers, and coughs. With acupressure points, she could reduce the phlegm from their lungs and clear them so they could sleep.
Combined with Western medicinal practice, she found that traditional methods worked wonders. This was the start of her TCM journey.
How It All Started For Nori
In the wake of Covid-19, Nori has taken it upon herself to provide a mobile wellness service for new mothers. She observed that many new mothers are ill-prepared to cope with their newborns, and face difficulty with breastfeeding techniques and adjusting to new routines that come with motherhood.
Besides providing these mothers Tui Na and Acupuncture, Nori has been providing guidance on posture, and methods to increase the flow of breast milk. However, she found that mothers most appreciated the rest and healing provided by Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Whilst at her clients’ homes, other family members can get their chance at being treated for other ailments such as muscular and joint pains, fatigue and low energy – like Mr. Dad who also hasn’t been sleeping! Chinese massage is one of the methods she frequently uses.
Her Family Heritage
Growing up among traditional healers, Nori was welcomed to the world at home by her great-aunt. She had witnessed some of her siblings birthed at home too. Her great-aunt was the village midwife, a recognised practitioner by the Rural Health department. Her great-uncle was also a famous masseur.
Her earliest memories of being involved in the art of healing were helping her great-aunt prepare herbal pastes and infusions into massage oil – this was a most exciting experience.
Nori learnt that certain types of food should be prepared for postpartum mothers to help them heal. In addition, strict postpartum confinement periods must be adhered to, which assist women in restoring their health for the long term.
Nori's Health Advice
While pregnant with her eldest child, she was introduced to the Lamaze technique(1), a breathing method to assist muscular relaxation during labour. She plans to educate more child-bearing women in this technique at Amber & Flow. She also believes in using acupressure for birth induction(2).
For her self-care routine, Nori practices yoga and pilates and enjoys 5km in-park runs on weekends. She advises everyone to adopt a healthy diet, exercise sufficiently to move the qi, blood and body fluid, and adopt good relaxation techniques when things begin to feel overwhelming. In addition, she encourages everyone to listen to their bodies and receive monthly treatments like massage or acupuncture to nourish the body, remove stagnation and return the free flow of qi.
Nori is now practicing in Melbourne. Book her online in Mernda or West Melbourne.

Dr. Adalyn Hewwing
Dr. Adalyn Man Hewwing is a skilled practitioner of acupuncture and Tui Na massage. She has obtained a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture at the Endeavour College of Natural Health, which included Tui Na massage studies. Dr. Adalyn speaks fluent English, Cantonese and basic Mandarin.
Special Interest
Dr. Adalyn is a licensed massage therapist and acupuncturist who specialises in treating the whole body. She treats both acute and chronic conditions, from neck pain to depression.
She excels at treating muscular/nerve aches and pains, but she also has a strong interest in digestive health and overall well-being especially during menopause.
She also knows that sometimes your body needs more than just acupuncture. Dr. Adalyn is always looking for new ways to improve her patients’ health by recommending herbs and dietary changes along with acupuncture treatments. She also teaches qigong exercises to complement acupuncture treatment to combat low energy level, poor memory, and fatigue.
How Did Adalyn Become an Acupuncturist?
When she experienced acute lower back pain every morning for one year, she knew it was time to seek treatment. She visited a Chinese Traditional Medicine practitioner and received acupuncture treatment, which resulted in longer pain-free days than before.
She revisited the Chinese Traditional Medicine practitioner, receiving acupuncture treatment and Chinese herbal medicine that provided positive results every time. Her acupuncturist encouraged and supported her to study TCM at Endeavour College of Natural Health.
As a young girl, she experienced issues with painful menstruation (dysmenorrhea). When she became a mother, she needed Chinese dietary advice for post-natal care because most women in her country were getting them. The practice has been proven beneficial in a majority of them.
In later years, she experienced early menopause. She found out that hormone replacement therapy (HRT) did not reduce related symptoms and stress. She would like to pass this knowledge to her clients as part of self-care.
Ada is now practicing 4 days with Hands from Heaven. Booking and pricing can be found by following the link above.
